ABOUT THE FOUNDER

WHO I AM

Schylon Lane is an Illinois-licensed attorney practicing in the areas of family law and criminal defense.  Before completing her Juris Doctorate at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois, she attended Southeast Missouri State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree, and Georgetown University, where she completed a graduate certification in Paralegal Studies. Before joining SK Law, P.C., Schylon spent approximately 12 years building a career in the public interest sector, at agencies such as the U.S. House of Representatives (Washington, D.C.), the U.S. Department of Justice (Washington, D.C.), the U.S. Department of Education (Chicago, Illinois), the Cook County Pension Fund (Chicago, Illinois), and the Cook County State's Attorney's Office (Chicago, Illinois).  Her experience as a certified mediator and knowledgeable litigator has given Schylon a unique perspective to appreciate the balance between the necessity of litigation and alternative resolutions, when appropriate. When Schylon is not focusing on her professional passions, she enjoys attending comedy shows, concerts, and wine tastings and taking long walks with her partner.
